Marilyn Monroe

Saw this week "My week with Marilyn" movie which was great. It would be interesting to read her biography. She had such a roller coaster life. Married three times and divorced. She was one of the biggest celebrities ever. She had glamour like Marlene Dietrich had also. Hope she would have lived longer. I have seen couple times one of her movies "Some like it hot" which has her one of the most known songs "I wanna be loved by you" in it. This is a great movie.

Morning - Katie Melua - The flood and Red balloons

Morning everybody! In the morning it's sometimes nice to listen something very sloow music. For me if something doesn't work in the morning or goes wrong I have then half of the day the same "stood up with the wrong feet" -feeling.

Found a beautiful live version of Katie Melua's song "The flood". This song has a very beautiful piano! And I almost few times fell asleep listening to "Red balloons". Listen also the album version of "Red Balloons".

Electric oldies

I spent half of the day listening some very old electronic, new wave, synth pop and some disco songs. Most of the songs I found trough this compilation: TREVOR JACKSON presents METAL DANCE Industrial / Post-Punk / EBM : Classics & Rarities '80 - '88. I want to open the post with one of the nicest electro songs I found today! It should be listened loud. This song was released 1988 by Target Records in Belgium.

Know those songs what they use in aerobic competitions with too many sound effects and thunder? This song I couldn't listen yet in one time trough. I would get hyper in my head. I would need to play it in a dance hall and then it would work. This song was released 1984.

Susanne Sundfør - New video White Foxes!

I love this singer! She has the most amazing voice that I have ever heard and her stage presence quietly stuns everybody. It feels like you are surrounded by another world.




Susanne Sundfør is going to release soon a new album "Silicone veil". The exact date is 26.3 so be ready! She has released now the first video from her song "White foxes". She was playing some of the new songs including this one on her tour in Europe. I have the feeling that the new album will have more power on it, bit more electronic disco, but in a very good way! Enjoy from the beautiful video!

Some BASS, please.

After one week without internet I felt like listening some tracks with some bass. Listened also lot of older Prodigy, it's such a energizing band.

It's funny how you feel isolated from the world in a way when you don't have internet. All the small things like checking time tables etc. comes more difficult. Luckily I made some new collections of music for my mp3. Have now one file that has 1,06 gigabytes of music and 124 songs in it. And love it. Listened some Cloud and Gramatik also. These guys are genious!

But now back hunting new sounds! Found some ass kicking tunes! It would be awesome to listen all these songs in a big place and very loud, that you feel the bass tremble.



Working with the moniker Shed, Rene Pawlowitz is a great producer and DJ based in Berlin. He has released two albums before: "Shedding the past" (2008) and "The traveller" (2010).

Just listening trough the album "Shedding the past" and "Another wedged chicken" is an awesome track with great bass line! "Estrange" has deep bass line trough the whole song. It works almost as a lullaby. "Slowmotion" is a ear crunching song, or at least the beginning of the song. "Flat Axe" is a catching song with this strange ripple effect or how should you call it. It sounds like someone would be opening the drain that was stuck or something, but it sounds very good in this song.

Russian Red




Russian Red is the artist name of Lourdes Hernández. She's Spanish folk indie singer-songwriter. She took the name of her band from the lipstick color she's using: "Russian red". Burial - Kindred


The dub step master Burial is going to release soon, the date is not yet known, a new "Kindred ep". It has three songs on it: "Kindred", "Loner" and "Ashtray wasp". The opening track "Kindred" is a slow drifting song with beautiful bass patterns, bits and parts of vocals and a beautiful piano and violin (?) in the background. Listen these songs with headphones, sounds the best like that!

"Loner" is a faster track that you could listen when running on a empty street and there's a beautiful moment when the lyrics hit at 6.22. "Hold on. Will you please, hold on? Hold on."  I love the way how Burial creates these soundscapes that catch your breath and whole attention. That introduce you to something else, something new. There's a small clip from "Ashtray wasp", it has bells ringing trough the whole clip, quite rough sounds, don't know if it's because of the clip that I found.

Burial released also earlier in 2011 "Street halo ep" that had the songs "Street halo", "NYC" and "Stolen dog" on it. "Street halo" has a very haunting vocals that are in the background and then take more space. I like the beginning of  "NYC". It has very beautiful deep bass. But then I miss something from the rest part of the song, would need some bigger changes. From the "Street halo ep" the song "Stolen dog" stands out. It has some soft old sounding synths in the beginning that are just lovely!

I was lucky to find the live set of Florence + The Machine concert from Eindhoven! Such a nice valentine's day surprise! Concert was 1 hour 15 minutes and some really nice person uploaded the whole concert to youtube! Thank you a lot and also to FATM Army!

The songs that really popped out were: "What the water gave me", "Cosmic love" and the amazing live version of "You've got the love" with electric guitar that sounds so beautiful! And "Never let me go"! Love those moments when Florence is the only voice, it's so beautiful! I could end every sentence with that. Only minus was that sometimes the backup singer was overtaking too much Florence's voice.

I liked better the stronger version of "Heartlines" now it was bit softer and "Leave my body" surprises always positively as "All this and heaven too" also. And the beginning of "Shake it out" the organ sounds so good, playing only one tune. And "Dog days are over" is just such a great song to jump with. "Rabbit heart" is the only song that hasn't hit me like the other songs, even though like the part at 1:02:06 when it starts to grow for the chorus is nice. And a very beautiful live version from "No light, No light" ends the concert. I put here the original music video of "No light, No light". It's beautiful. Can't wait to see her in March in Berlin!

Hanna - Chemical Brothers



Just watched the movie "Hanna". It's good! It has very well built scenes and a great music by Chemical Brothers. The movie came out 2011, it's directed by Joe Wright. The leading actors are: Saoirse Ronan as Hanna, Eric Bana as Erik and Cate Blanchett as Marissa.

Fredrika Stahl


Fredrika Stahl is a 25 years old Swedish singer who's doing jazzy/pop songs. She plays also piano and guitar. She has released three albums so far. "A fraction of you" (2006), "Tributaries" (2008) and "Sweep me away" 2010. I came across with her music when I saw Nissan Juke commercial where she was singing "Twinkle twinkle little star". I posted it here also some long time a go but now the second time. It's a beautiful song that sums up pretty much life.

Sway with me...tiritomba

Saw today a nice children's performance by Plan-D: "Santa Sangre". They had really nice use of music.
I picked this beautiful old tune from there.

Dean Martin was one of the most popular singer in the 1950's and 1960's. He was also a famous actor and part of the world famous group Rat Pack where belonged also Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop. Dean Martin's real name was Dino Paul Crocetti. He has performed famous hits like "Sway", "That's amore", "Volare" and "Everybody loves somebody"

Henry Theel was some of the most popular singers in Finland in the 1940's and 1950's. He was performing all the way until the 80's. There's some glamour in these pieces!

She has created a huge career. She has sold millions and millions of records, actually more than 300 millions.
She released her debut album in 1983. Her 12th album will be released 26th of March 2012 so quite soon! It's called MDNA, which makes reference to MDMA that is Ecstacy. She has told that this album will be a project where she's looking for the sickest, maddest and most badass people to collaborate. She told it in her Facebook December 2010. I'm waiting for the album with curiosity.

I was watching one day the Superbowl halftime show where Madonna was performing. And ended up listening the old Madonna songs, which are great. You can check the clip here.


Madonna has always had the need to stir things up. With her music videos and performances. Like in the Confessions tour hanging on a huge cross with a thorn crown. Still I feel that some of the best songs form Madonna are the older ones. I think Madonna revolutionized the pop music and has been the first lady of pop music for very long time. Lady Gaga referred to Madonna that she herself is doing now the same revolution for the pop music as Madonna did 25 years ago. Lady Gaga is one of the biggest Madonna fans as she has told. They both share the same go for your passion and work. And even if you don't like all the songs you can still see the passion and dedication behind the work.

UMK - Uuden musiikin kisa - Eurovision song contest

Don't be scared of the name. I think I finally found something great from Eurovision, they have changed now the rules. There's professional jury in the preliminary contest who decides which songs go further. I think in this way we will get to hear more interesting pieces. There was some cool competitors in the Finnish contest.



I found a singer with a beautiful voice! Aili!
Here's a song that I've played on repeat for some time. These songs have also beautiful lyrics!

There were also some totally crazy songs that made to the semifinals in Finland. It feels like a very strange mix of console games and, and euro pop. There's almost no word for it! It's nuts, but has still something fancy in it!
